Thanksgiving Break
It's the last day of school before Thanksgiving Break, and I couldn't be more excited. For one thing, I'm excited for sleeping in next week and not having school, and I'm excited to see my family on Thanksgiving. That will be the busiest day for me next week. Monday through Wednesday, I have to babysit, and then Thursday, I go to around 3 different houses visiting people. It'll be exhausting, but fun.

Mini Game Assigment
So, we're supposed to be doing the mini game assignment, but some of the laptops won't work with Flash. We're trying to find out which ones do and which ones don't work, so that we can fix that problem and move on. I guess once I finish this blog, I'll find out if mine works or not.

3 Time Regional Champions!
So, we won the cheerleading competition, and now we go on to States! This is the third year in a row we've won regionals, and we are so excited. We're hoping to take a title in states this year. South Harrison took second place, followed by Charleston Catholic, and then Valley Fayette. However, only us and South Harrison go to States.

As for football, we beat Independence on Friday, and now we travel to Williamstown this Friday to start playoffs. So, we'll see how we do.

Fayetteville Football/ Cheerleading Competition.
Tonight's our final game against Independence, and I think we're going to win. Then, we have playoffs and we'll see how far we advance. I hope we don't have to play Wheeling Central, because that ride would be terrible.
Tomorrow is regionals for our cheerleading competition. I'm not competing, but as a part of the team, I'm going to support my girls. I believe we'll do pretty well. We definitely are capable of winning and getting our "3 peat." Wish us luck! :)

Globaloria

Globaloria is definitely not what I expected it to be. I didn't expect to have to keep up with so much, and doing so much planning for a game. I guess its all in making sure everything will be right for the finished game. I think I'm going to have difficulty with keeping up with things the most. I forget to blog twice a week (hence why I'm doing it now), and I always forget to do my learning log. I guess I'll eventually do better, but for now, I've got to keep working on it.

Game Reviews
GAME REVIEW #1: MOST EFFECTIVE Learning Game
- Name of the game that taught you the MOST about its learning topic: Medical Mysteries
- What social issue or educational topic does the game explore? Diseases and how some of them are cured.
- What can you learn from this game? How different diseases react with medicines.
- What game genre is it? Do you think this genre is a good choice for creating a learning game? Why or why not? Adventure, yes. It helps learn through viewing.
- Design Analysis (Does it look good? Does it clearly illustrate the issue or learning concept?) Yes, it explains the issue very well.
- Usability Analysis (Is it clear what you need to do as a player? Does it work well?) It gives the instructions very well and explains what you need to do.
- Suggestions for improvement. How would you change the gameplay to make the learning and play experience work together better? I would make it a less boring game before you have to fight the diseases.
- List 2-3 things that you would like to learn how to do (in terms of functionality, design or content)Make things move, make the buttons, and make the background look semi-professional.
- Name of the game that taught you the LEAST about its learning topic: Bullseye.
- What social issue or educational topic does the game explore? It doesn't.
- What can you learn from this game? How to shoot an arrow on a computer, nothing educational at all.
- What game genre is it? Do you think this genre is a good choice for creating a learning game? Why or why not? Sports. Yes, but only if it has some type of educational content.
- Design Analysis (Does it look good? Does it clearly illustrate the issue or learning concept?) It looks good, but it doesn't illustrate an issue.
- Usability Analysis (Is it clear what you need to do as a player? Does it work well?) Yes, yes.
- Suggestions for improvement. How would you change the gameplay to make the learning and play experience work together better? I would have some type of questions included in the game.
- List 2-3 things that you would like to learn how to do (in terms of functionality, design or content) Make things move, make the buttons, and make the background look semi-professional.
